Rainbow Netball League set for thrilling second half

Story by Anashe Murombedzi

The Rainbow Netball League is set for resumption this Saturday after a two-week mid-season break.

The break allowed teams to recharge and bolster their squads, and the competition is expected to be tougher heading into the business end of the league.

Correctional Queens, currently leading the 21-team table with 39 points, are looking to maintain their fine form which characterised the first half of the season.

However, they face stiff competition from Glow Petroleum, who are hot on their heels with the same tally of 39 points after 19 wins and one draw.

Tenax, who pulled off some impressive upsets before the break, are another team to watch, sitting in third place just a point behind the leaders.

The top four is rounded out by ZRP Mambas on 34 points while struggling teams like Belvedere, Epworth Dolphins, and Hi-Flyers face an uphill battle to turn their seasons around.

This Saturday’s fixtures promise plenty of action, with leaders Correctional Queens facing off against Flow Angels before taking on Hi-Flyers.

Other highlights include ZRP Masvingo taking on Mthala, Golden Valley play against Belvedere, and Glow Petroleum being up against Yadah.

With six venues hosting matches across the country, netball fans are in for a treat as the league returns with a bang.
