ZANU PF National Chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri launched the Kwekwe Central Constituency campaign amid calls for unity of purpose if the ruling party is to win resoundingly in the 23 August general elections.
Thousands of people gathered at Amaveni Stadium in Kwekwe to witness the ruling party’s campaign launch for this year’s general elections.
Cde Muchinguri Kashiri implored the ruling party supporters to support President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision by voting for the ruling party.
“The President has exhibited the great potential the country has in terms of development. We need to give him another mandate. I am saying Kwekwe you are the heartbeat of the nation. Show your strength and support the President’s vision. Let us stand together and support our country’s sovereignty,” said Cde Muchinguri.
The major highlight of the campaign launch was when the ruling party’s aspiring legislator, Cde Energy Ncube was introduced to the electorate while holding hands with fellow provincial council member, Cde Kandrose Mugabe.
“They used to fight for the ticket to represent the party. However, today they are holding hands for the good of the party. This is the unity we want to see in Kwekwe. With a united vision, nothing can stop us from winning,” said Cde Muchinguri.
The ruling ZANU PF party has set a target of five million votes in this year’s general elections as it seeks another mandate to develop the country.
