The Nomination Court for the Gutu West Constituency by-election is underway at Masvingo Magistrates Court where prospective candidates are filing their papers.

The nomination court opened at 10am and is expected to close by 4pm.
The by-election will be held on the 11th of next month after the death of independent candidate, Christopher Mutonho in a road accident before the August 23 General Elections.

The Electoral Act compels the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission to defer a constituency election should a candidate die between the sitting of the Nomination Court and the poll, or even while voting is in progress.
