Wedza Government Complex commissioned

Story by Jerold Sasa

THE Second Republic is continuing with its development agenda, with the Wedza Government Complex complete and having been officially commissioned by Vice President, General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwengathis Sunday.

The completion of the Complex had dragged on for more than 20 years but the Second Republic has completed it in under two years.

Construction of the complex started in 2004 but could not be completed due to several challenges but the job is done after the government’s deliberate move to target all uncompleted projects.

Officially commissioning the complex this Sunday, Vice President, General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga said the government is committed to ensuring people have access to services under one roof.

“We want our people to have services under one roof so that they won’t travel long distances,” said Dr Chiwenga.

Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Senator Aplonia Munzverengwi noted strides by the government to target all outstanding projects in its development agenda.

“Our President is committed to completing all outstanding projects and these are the results of that policy,” said Senator Munzverengwi.

Meanwhile, the Wedza Registry Office, which is also under construction, is nearing completion.
