VICE President Kembo Mohadi has implored the country’s economic actors to work in unison towards the attainment of Vision 2030.
Since its inception in 2017, the Second Republic has made a deliberate effort to rebuild Zimbabwe’s economy and reclaim its place on the international arena.
It is against this background that a stakeholder’s engagement in Victoria Falls this Tuesday, saw the government imploring economic players to work towards the attainment of Vision 2030.
“Let us stay focused on the roadmap to Vision 2030, to foster inclusive economic growth and resolutely address poverty, thereby transforming Zimbabwe into an industrialising, knowledge-based and technology-driven Upper Middle-Income country that provides a high quality of life to all its citizens.
“The onus is on all of us, as policymakers, heads of parastatals, local authorities, and private sector players, civil leaders, to pull in one direction in our endeavour towards the attainment of Vision 2030,” said Vice President Mohadi.
The three-day engagement which attracted government officials, parastatals and local authorities, among others, sought ways to expedite the country’s economic development.
“It is not merely about setting targets or developing strategies; it is about the collective commitment to the betterment of our nation. It is about embracing collaboration in its truest form, where diverse perspectives merge, where expertise is shared, and where the power of unity propels us towards our shared vision,” said ZIST chief executive officer, Dr Tinashe Muzamhindo.
To date, the government has put in place policies and measures designed to regain investor confidence and ensure a sustained growth path for the economy.
These include the introduction of a new currency, construction of new dams, road rehabilitation and expansion of the country’s power generation capacity.
