Dynamos hoping to maintain momentum ahead of Simba Bhora encounter

Story by Lawrence Trusida, Sports Editor

NEW Dynamos head coach Genesis Mangombe is pleased with his team’s progress after overseeing two victories since taking over from Hebert Maruwa.

Affectionately known as ‘Kaka’, Genesis Mangombe was elevated to the Dynamos hot seat after Dembare parted ways with Herbert Maruwa a fortnight ago.
Since then Dynamos have played two matches, winning a Chibuku Super Cup first round encounter and a league match.

Dembare beat Simba Bhora one-nil in the Chibuku Super Cup first round before dismissing Sheasham two-nil this past weekend in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer league.

Mangombe’s predecessor Hebert Maruwa was fired for lacking consistency, but the new coach believes his team is adapting well to his tactics ahead of Sunday’s league clash with Simba Bhora.

“We are trying to move the ball fast, and the team is responding well it’s all about possessional football as we attack and defend as a team but in the long run I am sure what we are trying to do will come out well but the boys are responding well and hey have been fantastic,” said Mangombe.

Dynamos are fourth on the PSL log table with 32 points, nine behind log leaders Highlanders.
