THE government has reiterated its commitment to continue working with international partners, which complements its grand strategies to tackle various emerging and existing threats.
This collaboration aligns with President Mnangagwa’s efforts to strengthen Zimbabwe’s ties with the global community and address various challenges facing the nation.
The Red Cross International Day commemorations held in Gweru this Saturday underscored the positive relationship between the government and the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society.
“We applaud our members and volunteers to keep humanity alive. We participate in universal or diverse groups to restore family links. We are an auxiliary to the government, through government partnerships, for us to deliver our mandate,” said Zimbabwe Red Cross Society representative.
Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Owen Ncube praised the organisations for their dedication to serving vulnerable communities.
“We are very much encouraged by the good work that the Red Cross continues to champion in an impartial, neutral, transparent, and independent manner. They were visible during cholera days in Shurugwi, Gweru and the whole province.”
The government reiterated its commitment to ongoing collaboration with humanitarian organizations to improve the lives of Zimbabweans.
“Humanity must always be the winner and we will always guarantee our support and the humanitarian space to execute your work,” said the Deputy Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs, Brigadier General Levy Mayihlome.
The Red Cross and Red Crescent societies have been assisting several countries across the globe in times of disaster.
