Zimbabwe’s workforce can achieve Vision 2030 ahead of schedule – CEOs

Story by Wellington Makonese

ZIMBABWE’s business leaders are confident in the country’s ability to achieve Vision 2030, potentially even ahead of schedule.

The message resonated throughout the recent Zimbabwe CEO’s Network Awards held in the capital.

The event, held on Saturday, honoured outstanding leaders across various sectors for their contributions to driving industry growth.

The convener, Dr Tafadzwa Matsika, emphasised the initiative’s goal to change negative perceptions about Zimbabwe’s business environment.

“You will realise when the President said Zimbabwe is open for business, he was quite serious about it and the business starts with the people. You will realise that the matrix behind it is a motivated people, a people that will appreciate Brand Zimbabwe.”

Prominent business leaders from local authorities, industry, and academia honoured at the awards, shared their confidence in the country’s skilled workforce.

“I feel greatly honoured and humbled to be a recipient. It is very motivating to notice as you sweat going up and down in your daily routine, there are some people secretly watching what you are doing. My vision is to carry Bindura to the next level from a municipality to a city also valuing the concept of a smart city,” said Bindura Town Clerk, Ms. Evelyn Madziire.

Claremont Business School managing director, Mr. Gilbert Zinyama said, “We are working very hard to ensure that we deliver quality to all our students, we have been preaching quality all along and for us to get this quality, we are feeling very elated for it.”

“This achievement reflects our total commitment in Slice Distributors towards fostering an environment where everyone can thrive,” noted Slice Distributors’ human resources director, Mrs. Margaret Moyana.

The awards ceremony coincided with positive developments in Zimbabwe’s education sector, which is increasingly aligning itself with industry needs.
