Zimbabwe’s industrialisation drive has been applauded by sister republics and recognised as a vital cog in the region’s economic growth.
With a few weeks to go before Zimbabwe hosts the SADC Summit, preparations are underway with the government saying all targets will be met.
The situation on the ground has left the region impressed with Malawi’s representative in Zimbabwe, Major General Elias Mpaso applauding the Second Republic’s industrialisation drive.
“We are seeing the massive drive and this industrialisation drive is so commendable. Development for Zimbabwe is a success for the entire region and we celebrate these milestones by the government of Zimbabwe.”
DRC’s Charge d’Affaires, Mr Michel Kama Mipwele weighed in saying Zimbabwe as a founder member of SADC, continues to contribute significantly to regional growth.
“The level of preparation is advanced, and the renovation of the infrastructures made at high speed to serve guests is commendable. This is already a win for Zimbabwe, congratulations to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Zimbabwe as a founder member of the SADC plays an active role in the stability of the region and also a key player in access to the region,” he said.
Zimbabwe will take over as chair from Angola and issues of enhanced regional integration, peace and security, among others will be discussed during the summit.
