JUSTICE was served for seven women from Chipinge who fell victim to a serial rapist after the man was caged for 60 years.
62-year-old Daniel Chauke was earlier this week sentenced to a total of 133 years in prison on seven counts of rape before 73 years were suspended.
Chauke’s victims whom he assaulted before raping were aged between 23 and 71.
In another case, a 20-year-old man from Mutare will serve 15 years behind bars for raping his 12-year-old sister.
It was proven that he raped her on several occasions before infecting the girl with a Sexually Transmitted Disease.
Still in Mutare, the duo of Hamilton Sabudu aged 42 and Oliver Musekiwa (53) were each given a 40-year jail term for murder.
The pair killed their victim by stabbing him several times before robbing him.
In Beitbridge, a 41-year-old man who drugged his 12-year-old daughter before raping her was slapped with a 20-year jail term.
The convicted father raped his daughter while she was asleep and infected the girl with a Sexually Transmitted Disease.
