PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Bulawayo on his way to Binga where he will commission projects and lead Culture Month celebrations this Saturday.
President Mnangagwa was welcomed at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport by Bulawayo Metropolitan Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Honourable Judith Ncube, ZANU PF provincial chairperson Cde Jabulani Sibanda and senior government officials.
The President said cultural and language diversity is the pride of the nation.
“Tomorrow my government is in Binga to celebrate culture month, this is important as our culture is our identity hence the need to celebrate it as a nation. Let us remain a nation with its cultural identity,” he said.
President Mnangagwa also spoke about his recent engagements in Egypt where he attended the African Development Bank meetings and met the country’s creditors.
” I arrived from Egypt yesterday where we had an engagement of debt relief for our nation, the debt that was caused by sanctions and we are making headway in that because our strategy is clear and acceptable thanks to Cde Chissano, the former President of Mozambique who is helping us in that and our engagement is bearing fruit,” he said.
The President is expected to also commission Mabololo Primary School in Binga and preside over the ground-breaking ceremony for a local clinic.
