Music enthusiasts reckon Jah Prayzah is an artiste par-excellence

Contemporary crooner Jah Prayzah broke new grounds over the weekend after successfully launching two albums in two days in two cities, a historic feat that no other local artist has achieved.

The Third Generation Band frontman has left music enthusiasts in awe after successfully launching his two albums ‘Chiremerera’ and ‘Maita Baba’, which are diverse in sound and themes, to cater for different audiences.

‘Chiremera’  a traditional album which was launched on the 12th of May at Old Hararians Sports Club carries songs like ‘Pachedu’, ‘Sarungano’ and ‘Chiremerera,’ with many on social media in agreement that the title of the album is befitting since the songs have earned the musician another level of respect.

The album which was produced by different producers exhibits the musician’s prowess in song-writing and in blending traditional Zimbabwean music with contemporary sounds much to the delight of music lovers.

“Jah Prayzah is a very talented musician and his new albums have shown that the future of Zimbabwean music is in safe hands,” noted one of the fans who spoke to ZBC News.

“I can safely say Jah Prayzah is Zimbabwe’s cultural ambassador. His new albums show that he is in a class of his own,” said another.

“All his songs were well crafted. The man is super talented,” another added.

Another fan weighed in, “I am loving all his new songs especially the one she did with Feli Nandi. The visuals are out of this world.”

“All I can say is Jah Prayzah is Zimbabwe’s most talented artiste,” claimed another fan.

After the successful launch of Chiremerera in Harare, the wordsmith embarked on another artistic journey, this time to the City of Kings, where he successfully unveiled his 13th album ‘Maita Baba’.

The album which comprises  afro-beat and amapiano songs, features Gemma Griffiths, Shasha, DJ Tira and Nomfundo, and has tracks which include ‘Walleticaly’, ‘Chero’, ‘Sarure’ and ‘Tocheka’ with ‘Walletically’ promising to be a hit if comments on social media platforms are anything to go by.

Meanwhile, South African musician Makhadzi has taken to her Facebook page to congratulate Jah Prayzah, expressing her admiration for the artiste for his ability to connect to the African roots.

Sarungano taken off Chiremerera album has garnered more than 700 thousand views on youtube within a week.
