CAPTAINS of industry and public sector leaders met in Victoria Falls at an Indaba to share strategies and solutions on how to tackle sustainability issues to stir the country towards a resilient future.
The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Network has a consensus position on the need for a sustainable business future.
The delegates at the Indaba told the Zbc News that the environment in which service thrives must not only be protected but also be promoted in a way that sees beyond making a profit, it must impact the lives of the people.
“For us who utilise the environment in our businesses, it is important that we look after our forests as we earn money from them. While we think expansion, we must constantly guard that trees are not destroyed,” said Allied Timbers Ceo, Mr Remigio Nenzou.
“ZACC wants a corruption-free operating environment, and that is why we are fighting to weed out the cancer which not only affects economies but also robs the promotion of social justice,” said ZACC Deputy Chairperson, Commissioner Kuziva Murapa.
“We are pushing the message that the environment must be protected as it is only after this that social responsibility can be fully achieved in a country,” said ESG Network Executive Director, Mr Willard Razawo.
This year’s Indaba was held under the theme A Great Reset for ESG Integration and Evolution of the Sustainability Disclosure Landscape in Zimbabwe.
