All set for Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo

Story by Lisa Masuku

ALL is set for the Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo which gets underway this Tuesday in the country’s second largest city.

The much-anticipated Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo will run from the 26th to the 30th of this month.

“Intwasa is back again, we are back at our usual spot. The Intwasa is happening in September,” said the organiser, Nkululeko Nkala.

Running under the theme “Imagine it! Experience it”, the festival will be punctuated by several activities which include performances by regional and international artists.

“The nice thing this year is that thanks to the kindness of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, we were able to bring international acts,” added Nkala.

Famed for its diverse programmes, the festival will showcase a wide range of artistic forms.

The five-day festival will be spread around venues that include the Bulawayo Theatre, the National Art Gallery, the Public Library, and the Academy of Music.

The festival has been running since 2005 and has become an important feature in the country’s entertainment and cultural calendar for showcasing local and international talent.
