PAP back in session

Story by Ian Zvoma

Pan-African Parliament President Chief Fortune Charumbira has stressed the importance of restoring the PAP to full functionality after a period of internal instability.

He was speaking at the official opening of the third ordinary session of the 6th parliament in Midrand, South Africa this Monday.

Formed to ensure the full participation of African people in the economic development and integration of the continent, the PAP was taken off the rails by internal instability for seven months.

That is, however, water under the bridge after the re-election of Chief Fortune Charumbira in March this year.

The PAP is back in Session for the 3rd Ordinary session of the 6th parliament and the focus is on delivering inclusive development on the African continent.

New members of the PAP, including Zimbabwe’s Honourable Happymore Chidziva were also sworn in.

Zimbabwe is represented by five legislators led by Honourable Pupurai Togarepi who is alive to their mandate which goes beyond political affiliation.

The task at hand is by no means easy but the PAP is determined to fulfill its mandate in line with the expectations of the people of Africa.
