FORMER Mozambican President, His Excellency Joachim Chissano and African Development Bank (AFDB) President, Dr AkinwumiAdesina paid d a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House this Sunday evening.
The meeting comes ahead of the structured dialogue platform on arrears clearance and debt resolution process, high level meeting to be held this Monday.
Speaking after the closed door meeting , His Excellency President Chissano said their discussions were centered on preparations for the high level meeting , noting a lot of discussions are being conducted with development partners.
“We were preparing for tomorrow’s meeting . The process so far is going well and there is a lot of discussions with partners. We had a good meeting,” he said.
Dr Adesina on the other hand said they are excited about how the process is going and commended President Mnangagwa for his commitment to the debt clearance process .
“We are excited about President Mnangagwa’s commitment to this meeting .We anticipate that things will go well,” he noted.
Dr Adesina was appointed by President Mnangagwa to champion the debt clearance process in 2022.
The meeting will among other issues consider a range of options to fund the arrears clearance and debt resolution process .
Various stakeholders are expected to attend the high level meeting.
