DESTINATION Zimbabwe has received massive endorsement after five African heads of state and government jetted into the resort city of Victoria Falls for the Transform Africa Summit which kicked off this Wednesday.
The resort city which boasts of the majestic Victoria Falls and is well known for its hospitality and beauty is a hive of activity as it hosts a mega continental gathering.

This Wednesday morning, President Paul Kagame from Rwanda was the first to touch down at the Victoria Falls International Airport.
Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera followed later with his entourage before the host nation’s leader, President Emmerson Mnangagwa touched down at the airport to join his compatriots.
President Mnangagwa was received by multitudes of Zimbabweans who thronged the Victoria Falls Airport to welcome him to the resort city.
It was indeed a rousing welcome as traditional dancers were at their best showcasing the rich Zimbabwean culture.
From neighbouring Zambia came President Hakainde Hichilema who arrived through the Victoria Falls border post.
All the leaders were received and accorded state honour befitting heads of state.
On arrival at the venue of the Summit, the four visiting leaders went on a tour of different exhibition stands showcasing different ICT innovations and solutions for the continent’s socio-economic challenges.
As the five heads of State converged for the Transform Africa Summit, the cooperation which is defining the deliberate assault on poverty was visible.
It was also a proud moment for Zimbabwe after the Southern African nation won the bid to host the event shrugging off competition from 36 other states.
It has not only been a diplomatic victory for the second republic in its engagement and re-engagement agenda but proof that Zimbabwe is taking the lead in proffering solutions for African problems in line with the objectives of Agenda 2063 which speaks to the Africa we want.
