THE Eastern Region Division One League got underway, with Match Day One witnessing a clash between Manica Diamonds Juniors and Renco Mine.
The Junior Ngoda Boys started on a good note through a 4-nil win to claim the top spot in the league.
Apart from Manica Diamonds Juniors, JM Busha, Buffaloes, FC Wangu Mazodze, Tenax, Midway, Surrey, and Mutare City Rovers complete the top eight panel.
Meanwhile, the Southern and Central Region leagues are yet to confirm dates for the start of their campaigns.
Elsewhere, Golden Eagles earned their first set of points after a 2-1 win over ZRP Harare in the ZIFA Northern Region League Match Day Two at Ellis Robins in Harare over the weekend.
Focus shifted from a crucial 1-all draw between MWOS and Shamva United which opened Match Day Two after the Golden Eagles registered their first victory of the season.
The Gondo Harishaye side boosted their early campaign fortunes after a 2-1 victory over ZRP Harare on Saturday.
The Gilbert Mushangazhike-coached team had a poor start to the season after succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Herentals developmental side.
Although ZRP pulled one back to reduce the lead, the Eagles were stubborn enough to defend and collect their first win.
Golden Eagles moved up to 7th with 3 points.
Trojan Stars seem to be early pacesetters, remaining unbeaten after a 3-nil victory over Chinhoyi Stars to head the table with six points.
On the same number of points, Second placed Ngezi Under 19 edged Herentals under 20 2-1, followed by Shamva Mine, Harare City, and Chegutu Pirates, with 4 points apiece.
PAM FC completes the top eight with 3 points.
The bottom four comprises Ommia and Banket United with a point each, while Concession United and Karoi United are yet to earn points.
