Zimbabwe and DRC pledge to strengthen bilateral ties

A Special Envoy of Democratic Republic of Congo President His Excellency Félix Tshisekedi paid a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa this Thursday evening, with discussions centring on strengthening of bilateral relations, among other issues.

The Special Envoy, Professor Serge Tshibangu held a closed door meeting with President Mnangagwa.He said discussions centred on various issues, chief among them, the strengthening of economic ties.

“I came to bring a message to His Excellency President Mnangagwa from His counterpart H.E President Tshisekedi. We are grateful for the warm welcome from President Mnangagwa and we spoke about peace and improving economic ties between the two countries,” he said.

President Tshisekedi is the current chairperson of the SADC regional bloc.

Zimbabwe continues to engage and re-engage with the global family of nations, with economic diplomacy being among the priorities.
