CELEBRATED local gospel musician, Minister Michael Mahendere is set to celebrate his 40th birthday on the 27th of this May in style, amid plans to establish a world-class recording studio and a gospel radio station.
Mahendere said, ‘‘I will be celebrating 40 years of age this May so I have launched a campaign, ‘minister at 40’ whereby we are embarking on three projects which are coming up with a state-of-the-art recording studio with live recording sound equipment and a gospel radio station strictly for gospel music.
“I am celebrating 40 years of impact and I want to create a platform for it. Celebrating my birthday, I thought of launching this campaign and creating a heritage for the next generation. On the 27th of May, we are going to witness performances by various local and regional musicians, and we will also have a live recording of Classical Worship Volume 3.
“Several musicians including Everton Mlalazi, Jah Prayzah, Janet Manyowa, and Takesure Zamar Ncube, will perform at the event. Celebrities from South Africa and Ghana are also expected to grace the event.’’
Minister Mahendere and his brothers are also expected to reunite in song at the event.
