MORE than 100 drug peddlers have been arrested in Bindura’s Chipadze suburb as law enforcement agents intensify the anti-drug blitz across the country.
Police in Bindura descended on Chipadze suburb, targeting Nyati and Kuma One Streets which have become drug hotspots in the town.
Sniffer dogs were part of the entourage as the door-to-door anti-drug blitz flashed out more than 100 drug dealers in just a single day.
ZRP Officer Commanding Bindura District Chief Superintendent Gladman Chiparaushe told ZBC News that drug peddlers will be flushed out from the town and surrounding areas.
The community is also playing its part with Anti-drug abuse advocate Elder Jeresa Phiri calling for a collective approach.
Of the 102 drug peddlers who were arrested, 37 have already appeared in court with 2 of the suspects being convicted while 63 others have paid fines.
