Zimbabwean creative lands big role in ‘Tina Turner Musical’

Zimbabwean actress, Ruva Ngwenya, who is based in Australia, has landed a big role in a Tina Turner Musical which is set to premiere in May.

Ngwenya has starred in a number of musicals which include ‘Beautiful’, ‘The Carole King’ and ‘We will Rock You’.

She is set to play her first lead role in musical theatre, in ‘Tina-The Tina Turner Musical’, based on the life of a legendary musician, Tina Turner, who is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time and a 12-time Grammy Award winner.

Ngwenya, who ventured into the craft at an early age, went professional in 2013 when she starred as Shenzi in ‘The Lion King.’

She is also famed for her role as Winnie Mandela in ‘Madiba The Musical,’ a Nelson Mandela story done in 2018.
