THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) says it will produce the final delimitation draft report for consideration by President Emmerson Mnangagwa next week.
This was revealed when the President handed over his observations regarding the preliminary delimitation report to ZEC at State House this Monday.
The constitutional processes regarding the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) preliminary delimitation report have been completed, with President Mnangagwa handing over a report containing his views for consideration by the electoral body.
“Last week, I gave ZEC Chairperson responses by parliament and I promised to present my own observations with regards to my own study of the preliminary delimitation report for her attention,” he said.
ZEC Chairperson, Justice Priscilla Chigumba said her team is working round the clock to ensure a draft report is ready for consideration by next week.
“I have just received this report from His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa in terms of the constitution, we have convened all District Election Officers and Provincial Election Officers, over the weekend they were working on the report from the parliament’s ADHOC Committee. We are working urgently because time is of essence, what we are expecting is that sometime next week, we will have a draft for consideration by the President before the final report for gazetting,” she said.
ZEC received Parliament’s ADHOC Committee report in relation to the preliminary delimitation report and according to the constitution, the electoral body will consider views raised and then come up with a final report for gazetting.
