NORMAN Mapeza and his charges are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to retain the league title after embarking on a two-week pre-season training session in Bulawayo.
The four-time Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions have also been active in the transfer market to prepare their squad for the 2023 season.
The signings have seen the return of attacking midfielder Perfect Chikwende who played for Bulawayo Chiefs last season.
The Zvishavane-based outfit have also parted ways with Nigel Makumbe who was on loan from Ngezi Platinum, while Abubakar Onifade has been linked with a move to Simba Bhora.
FC Platinum spokesperson Chido Chizondo said, ‘‘Our transfer business so far, starting with departures, we parted ways with Blessing Moyo, Abubakar Onifade, William Stima, Nigel Makumbe and Evidence Tendayi. We would like to thank them for their contribution during the 2022 season as they were part of the success that we had in our championship. We wish them all the best. We have engaged Misheck Ngwenya, Jarrison Selemani as well as Perfect Chikwende who has always been part of the FC Platinum family. We definitely welcome him back.’’
Meanwhile, FC Platinum will begin the Premier Soccer League season with a Castle Challenge Cup encounter against Chibuku Super Cup winners, Bulawayo Chiefs next month.
