Former CID officer Jaison Muvevi, the murder suspect who was on the run for the fatal shooting of three people in Wedza has been arrested.
Muvevi, who allegedly shot dead the people in Wedza on Friday, including an apostolic sect leader, was arrested this Monday morning while trying to cross into Mozambique.
The arrest was confirmed by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) National Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi in an interview with ZBC News this Monday afternoon.
ZRP Officer-in-Charge of Wedza, Inspector Maxwell Hove is one of the victims, while another police officer is battling for his life in hospital.
The other victim is a barman identified as 20-year-old Munashe Mujanhi of Mujanhi village in Hwedza.
Muvevi is facing three counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, possession of a pistol and a rifle and trying to enter a neighbouring country without following immigration processes
