ZANU PF mourns national heroine

ZANU PF Harare province has described the late national heroine, Cde Betty Mtero as a champion of women’s economic empowerment whose dedication to duty was beyond measure.

ZANU PF Provincial Chairperson, Cde Godwills Masimirembwa said ZANU PF Harare province has lost a dedicated cadre in Cde Betty Mtero who was declared a national heroine owing to her immense contribution to national development.

“She was a dedicated, committed, selfless individual who sacrificed her time to empower the country’s citizens, we lost as a province and the nation at large,” said Masimirembwa.

ZANU PF Provincial Women League Chairperson, Cde Ratidzo Mukarati said Cde Mtero was a rare breed of politician because of her commitment to women’s empowerment.

“The late national heroine, Cde Betty Mtero was a mother to provincial structures, in all this, she was advocating for women’s empowerment.”

Central Committee member, Cde Nyasha Chikwinya said the late national heroine transformed communities through various empowerment initiatives.

“Cde Mtero gave hope among women locally and internationally. She taught a lot of things in politics, economics and socially.”

Cde Mtero died on the 6th of December after a long illness.
She is survived by three children and five grandchildren.
