The mass vaccination blitz is continuing countrywide with focus now on COVID-19 after the Polio blitz ended this Sunday.
In Bulawayo, the Provincial Medical Director, Dr Maphios Siamuchembu gave a summary of the polio vaccination as focus shifts to the COVID-19 vaccination blitz.
“We were running polio and COVID-19 vaccination concurrently and now we are compiling data to assess if we reached our target. The campaign for COVID-19 is ongoing at all clinics, private clinics and central hospitals. There will also be outreaches in busy places in the town. We are encouraging everyone from the age of 12 and above to come and get vaccinated,” he said.
Special mobile teams are being dispatched to residential areas to accelerate the programme which is targeting those aged 12 and above.
