A 27-year-old Chitungwiza man has appeared before a Harare magistrate for allegedly stabbing to death a man he found locked up with his wife in their matrimonial bed last week.
Allegations are that on November 29, Elliott Gadzikwa of Zengeza 3, Chitungwiza went through his wife’s mobile phone after suspecting her of infidelity and saw love messages from the now deceased whose name is still unknown.
The court heard that Gadzikwa started texting back pretending to be his wife and went on to trap the now deceased by luring him to his house using his wife’s mobile phone.
It is alleged that the accused person hid outside his house waiting for the now-deceased to enter his home.
The court further heard that when the now-deceased got into the house, he met the accused person’s wife, Rumbidzai Mudzipuri, and moments later Gadzikwa dashed into the house where he stabbed the now-deceased in the neck leading to his death.
The court heard that after the incident Gadzikwa together with his wife fled the scene leaving the now deceased in a pool of blood.
Gadzikwa was remanded in custody and was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
