PREPARATIONS for the second edition of the Binga beach volleyball are well on course, amid interest by foreign teams to grace the sporting showpiece next month.
After writing a success story from the inaugural tournament, the Binga beach volleyball tourney bounces back this weekend.
Zimbabwe Volleyball Association Secretary General, Enias Kondo said the local organising committee is not leaving any stone unturned in preparing for the event that runs from December 3 to December 4.
“We are currently preparing for the second edition of the beach volleyball tournament which is going to run from the 3rd to the 4th of December deep in the heart of Binga,” he said.
“We had a resounding success at the inaugural tournament hence we want to stage a bigger tourney. We are looking at having more teams coming this time around and teams from Botswana are promising to attend.
“2022 has been a busy year for most beach volleyball players where there have been zone six tournaments. In terms of administrative work, we have six teams that have registered and we are looking at having more teams by November 30, when our registration closes.”
Foreign teams from Botswana have also expressed an interest to participate in a tournament which is expected to court National Secondary Association Heads (NASH) teams.
Bulawayo’s Luvac are the defending champions in the men’s category, while Amazon are holders of the title in the women’s category.
