THE National Primary Schools Jikinya Dancing Festival has come to live this Friday in Gweru with schools from the country’s 10 provinces battling for honours.
Acting President Retired General Dr Constantino Chiwenga is following proceedings as he awaits to officiate the event which celebrates the country’s diverse cultures.
Also present is Minister of Sport, Arts, and Recreation, Honourable Kirsty Coventry, the Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Senator Larry Mavima and several government officials.
The event opened with several groups showing their dancing skills in the Amabhiza dance genre which originates from the Matabeleland region usual performed during rainy ceremonies.
Winners are set to walk away with several prizes at the prestigious event which has received overwhelming support from the corporate world.
