THE Zimbabwe Netball team is hoping to work on a number of weaknesses that have been exposed in the two defeats at the ongoing Spar Diamond Challenge Cup in Pretoria, South Africa.
The tournament is part of the Gems’ preparations for the 2023 Netball World Cup.
The Gems have suffered two consecutive defeats at the Spar Diamond Challenge Cup in Pretoria, South Africa after losing to the President’s XII and the Spar Proteas.
Due to the lacklustre performance the technical team believes the girls lack fitness while there is a need to improve in the front court.
The girls are playing well, but so far the two games we have played I realised our shooting is missing a lot as well as the number of scores is low. I am looking forward to more tournaments and friendly games before the world cup. We will take advantage of early camps and see how we can work on those areas and get the best,” Said Gems Head Coach, Ropafadzo Mutsauki.
Zimbabwe take on Scotland on Friday, in the first-ever meeting between the two sides.
The Gems will have to make do without shooter Sharon Bwanali and Goalkeeper Tanaka Makusha who have been ruled out through injury.
