EU pledges support to the second republic

By ZBC Reporter

THE European Union has reiterated its commitment towards mending relations with Zimbabwe and supporting the second republic’s efforts in national development.

It was a historic event as a five-member European Union (EU) delegation held a meeting with the revolutionary ZANU PF leadership at the party headquarters in Harare this Thursday.

Emerging from the meeting, the delegation pledged support towards the country’s development aspirations in the political and economic spheres.

ZANU PF Secretary for Finance, Cde Patrick Chinamasa emphasised the second republic’s stance of being a friend of all and enemy of none as well as the country’s expectation of the EU to denounce illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the United States and Western allies.

The historic meeting, which is a first of its kind, comes after the European Union and Zimbabwe signed financial agreements worth 47 million Euros in support of the country’s Health sector and electoral processes.
