Sikhala denied bail for the umpteenth time

By Fungai Jachi

CITIZENS Coalition for Change legislator for Zengeza West Job Sikhala who is facing charges of inciting public violence has once again been denied bail after the magistrates’ court ruled that he has the propensity to commit similar offences.

Sikhala, who is facing charges of inciting public violence in the Nyatsime area of Chitungwiza in June was denied bail on grounds that he cannot be trusted with his freedom pending trial.

The magistrate noted that Sikhala violated his bail conditions in a similar matter which is pending before the courts hence he is likely to repeat the offence.

The CCC legislator is accused of encouraging his party supporters to cause mayhem following Moreblessing Ali’s death in June this year claiming that the death was a result of politics.

This resulted in an uprising that left a trail of destruction in Nyatsime.

Meanwhile, Sikhala is expected back in court this Friday for another bail ruling in a case he is accused of obstructing the course of justice after he allegedly meddled in investigations by posting videos on social media claiming that Ali had been murdered by a ZANU PF member.
