AS the country grapples with an upsurge in cases of child sexual exploitation, two other young girls have been raped in Matabeleland North Province, with one of the suspects believed to be on the run.
A 17-year-old male student from Tsholotsho has been arrested on allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.
Allegations are that the victim went into her form one classroom looking for a missing textbook before the suspect forced her into a storeroom where he raped her.
The victim narrated her ordeal to the matron, who then reported the matter to the police.
In a related incident, Police in Lupane are on the hunt for a man who raped his eight-year-old daughter last Sunday.
It is alleged the victim and her two siblings were left in the custody of their biological father, who reportedly summoned the eight-year-old girl into his bedroom before raping her.
The suspect allegedly threatened to beat up the victim if she disclosed the matter
She however went on to narrate the ordeal to her grandmother who reported the matter to the police.
The suspect is still at large.
