Zimbabwe national cricket team all-rounder Sikandar Raza continues to make international headlines after he was named in the T20 World Cup Team of the Tournament.

The T20 World Cup ended this Sunday with England being crowned champions after beating Pakistan by five wickets in the final.

There was consolation for Zimbabwe with all-rounder Sikander Raza making it into the team of the tournament.

Raza’s selection is remarkable after the Chevrons were booted out of the tournament at the Super 12 stage, while all the other players on the list are from teams that made the last four of the T20 World Cup with the exception of South African bowler Andrich Nortje.

The Zimbabwean had 219 runs at the world cup which saw him ending the tournament as the sixth-best batsman with his highest score being 82.

His all-around prowess was also on show in Australia after he bagged 10 wickets in eight matches.

The Pakistan-born player narrowly lost out to England’s Sam Curran for the Player of the Tournament award.

It has been a remarkable year for Raza who was named the ICC Player of the Month for August and the World cup qualifiers player of the tournament.

The team of the tournament comprises English men Sam Curran, Mark Wood, Alex Hales and Joss Buttler, Indians Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav while Glenn Phillips of New Zealand makes the cut.

Losing finalists Pakistan has Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi on the list with Anrich Nortje of South Africa also making it among the world’s best.
