A pledge by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to equip computer laboratories at some schools in Mashonaland West Province has been fulfilled following the installation of information communication technologies at the targeted institutions.
Information communication technology laboratories were commissioned at Chinhoyi High Schools and three other learning institutions in Mashonaland West province this Friday.
The Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere said the move is part of efforts to turn around the fortunes of the economy digitally.
“This is part of turning around the fortunes of the economy as espoused in NDS1 and it is part of the journey towards transforming the education sector,” said Dr Muswere.
A total of 20 computers were handed over to Chinhoyi High School and 20 more are on their way to the school.
The provincial leadership noted how the development will not only provide connectivity to schools, but also prepare youths for a better future.
The schools that benefited from the latest lap of computerisation in Mashonaland West include Musengezi High School, Tafira Secondary School and Trelawnely Secondary school.
