A Commonwealth assessment mission is expected in Zimbabwe this Saturday to assess the progress the country has made following its application to be re-admitted into the global body in 2018.
The team will be led by Assistant Secretary-General, Professor Luis Franceschi, who will meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The delegation will also hold discussions with Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Ambassador Fredrick Shava along with other government officials, the media and other stakeholders on matters of interest to the organisation.
The visit by the team marks a culmination of the Second Republic’s engagement and re-engagement agenda in the realisation of Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy One.
