AS the country battles to deal with cases of child sexual exploitation, a 31-year-old Sinkukwe Village in Gwanda has been arrested for allegedly killing his juvenile wife, a 15-year-old minor.
The case comes as the country is still trying solve a child sexual exploitation puzzle of 9-year-old old girl from Tsholotsho who fell pregnant and is now being monitored at the United Bulawayo Hospitals.
It is alleged that the accused returned home from a beer binge and found the minor at a traditional dance ceremony in Sinkukwe Village and also joined the party.
He then took the teenager home at midnight and started assaulting her on the way accusing her of seeing another man at the ceremony.
After realising that she could no longer walk because of the injuries sustained from the assault, the accused asked for a wheelbarrow from the village which he used to ferry the girl home.
It is further alleged that the next morning, the accused discovered that the minor had died and alerted his relatives, leading to his arrest.
Matabeleland South Acting Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Thandolwenkosi Moyo confirmed the unfortunate incident, urging communities to desist from using violence to solve domestic disputes.
