THE leadership of PAP under its President, Chief Fortune Charumbira, has been endorsed after the amendment of the institution’s rules relating to their term of office.
A process that started in 2018 culminated in regional caucuses unanimously agreeing that the PAP president’s tenure in office and that of the four vice presidents should not be affected by national elections.
The amendment allows Chief Charumbira to remain in office as Zimbabwe heads for elections in 2023.
The amendment to the rules of procedure was supported by chairpersons of regional caucuses.
They said it is a step in the right direction as PAP repositions itself in fulfilling the objectives of inclusive development and continental integration.
