A South African national has appeared in court for allegedly defrauding a local businessman of over 700 thousand Rand in a botched maize deal.
54-year-old Johannes Naude, who is a South African national has appeared in court on charges of fraud after he allegedly defrauded the complainant of ZAR740 000 in a botched maize deal.
It is alleged that the complainant paid for 340 tonnes of maize to the accused, who had promised to deliver the maize.
The court heard that the accused became evasive after receiving payment for the maize.
The accused, who has other pending fraud charges, was remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, Miss Curvy organiser, Mercy Mushaninga, who allegedly defrauded models of more than US$10 000 has been freed on ZWL$100 000 bail.
She is alleged to have duped models who were destined for Dubai for a beauty pageant.
